In my previous job the main issue we had was how to save time limiting manual work whilst ensuring the business was receiving the same level of information.
On top of this, data where coming from diverse sources, and we needed to report by day/week/month both comparing stats by period, budget and forecast.
Here our solution: we input daily data in a master sheet documents (traffic, ad spends, mkt/organic sales, call centres, shop,….) and use excel macros to do the job for us.
